1. Who we are

“Simply Scripture” (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides the Simply Scripture iOS application and the website at simplyscripture.app. If you have any questions about this policy or your privacy, you can reach us at info@simplyscripture.app.

2. The short version

• We do not require an account to use the app.
• We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
• We do not profile you or send you marketing.
• Your settings and reading stay on your device.
• Scripture is delivered by the YouVersion Bible Platform (see section 4).

3. Information the app collects

We do not collect any personal data through the app. There is no sign-in, no user profile, and no form to fill in. Any settings you choose — such as font size or theme — are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us. We do not receive your reading activity, your preferences, or any other information about you.

4. Bible content and the YouVersion Bible Platform

Scripture in the app is provided through the YouVersion Bible Platform. To load and display Bible text, your device connects to YouVersion’s servers to retrieve that content. As with any internet request, YouVersion may process limited technical information (such as your device’s IP address) in order to deliver the requested Scripture. We do not receive this information, and we do not use it to identify you.

5. Information this website collects

This website is a simple set of static pages. We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts on it. Like virtually all websites, the hosting provider that serves these pages may automatically process limited technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) in temporary server logs for the purpose of delivering the site securely and reliably. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with any other data.

6. The Apple App Store

Simply Scripture is distributed through Apple’s App Store. When you download the app, your interaction is with Apple, not with us, and Apple may collect information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We do not receive personal data from Apple about who downloads the app. Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles your information.

7. Children’s privacy

Simply Scripture is suitable for users of all ages and is designed to be safe for children. The app has no user accounts, no forms, and no data submission of any kind, so we do not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).

8. Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights over any personal data an organisation holds about you — including the right to access, correct, or erase it. Because Simply Scripture holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or erase. Even so, if you have any privacy question or request, you are welcome to contact us at info@simplyscripture.app and we will respond.

9. Data security

The strongest protection for your data is for it never to be collected. The app keeps your settings on your device and transmits no personal data to us, so there is no central store of user information that could be breached. Scripture content is retrieved over a secure connection from the YouVersion Bible Platform.

10. Changes to this policy

If Simply Scripture ever adds a feature that changes how data is handled — for example, optional cloud sync — we will update this policy first, clearly describe what changes, and update the “last updated” date above. Any such feature would be optional and explained before you use it.
